This is a great Fantasy series. All the fables were forced to leave their homelands centuries ago when someone known only as "the adversary" invaded. Since then, the fables that can pass as human have been living in Fabletown among the mundanes ("Mundies") in NYC and the non-human fables (e.g. three pigs, chicken little, talking spoons and plates, etc) live in a Fabletown annex in upstate New York.
Bill Willingham is one of the better writers in comics today. He has turned Prince Charming into a thrice divorced (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty) good-for-nothing. The Big Bad Wolf (now Bigby Wolf) is Fabletown's sheriff. Pinocchio is a cranky 300-year-old boy who just wants to hit puberty already. Fun stuff.
